Do recent Presidential NLRB appointments impact your Workforce Management strategies?

Amidst the GOP campaigning this past week in Iowa and NH, President Obama’s recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board stole many headlines. While it appears these appointments will be vigorously contested, what will the impact be on businesses’ workforce management strategies if they go through?

It seems that the NLRB is moving towards even stronger support for unions and employees. It is anticipated that labor rules and regulations are evolving or being added, that will require strict compliance by businesses to avoid penalties and fines. Is your company at risk? Are you scheduling labor according to union seniority rules? How is overtime tracked and managed while keeping labor costs controlled? Are your employees offered the required breaks each shift? These are just a handful of the types of regulations that an automated workforce management system will track and manage for employers.
